Cholesterol Doesn’t Cause Heart Disease

Cholesterol causes heart disease — this is one of the biggest health myths of all time! Conventional “wisdom” tells us to eat a low fat diet and avoid saturated fat for our hearts. Yet, people who follow a diet high in protein and fat and low in carbohydrates aren’t dropping dead of heart attacks.
Numerous studies have definitely proven that there is no correlation between saturated fat consumption and heart disease. Considering how popular this theory is, it’s pretty shocking!
High fat diets lead to lowering of triglycerides, normalization of LDL (bad cholesterol), and an increase in LDL particle size, which is a good thing — we’ll explain shortly.

The landmark Lyon Diet Heart Study followed 650 participants who were at extreme risk for heart attacks. They were overweight, sedentary, smoked, and had high cholesterol levels — the works.
Half were put on a Mediterranean diet and half were put on what was called a “prudent” diet recommended by the American Heart Association. The study was halted before it was done because it was deemed unethical.


People on the Mediterranean diet stopped dying even though their cholesterol levels didn’t budge. However so many more people on the AHA diet were dying, researchers felt it was unethical to continue putting people at risk on this diet!

One test that seems to provide good information about your risk for heart disease is to measure LDL particle size. Large LDL molecules just move through the blood stream, doing no harm. But small LDL molecules are caused by oxidation and are dangerous. They embed themselves on artery walls, causing inflammation, and leading to plaque development.

Your HDL and LDL numbers are not a good predictor of heart disease, but what is? Two important markers are your small particle LDL and your ratio of triglycerides to HDL.
For example, if your triglyceride level is 100 and your HDL is 50, this gives you a ratio of 2. A ratio of 2 or under is good. If this ratio is higher than that, you can lower your triglycerides fairly easily by reducing sugar in your diet.

Inflammation promotes every degenerative disease. It causes microinjuries to your arteries, causing plaque formation.
Free radicals attack LDL turning it from large (safe) to small (harmful) particle LDL.
Sugar is highly inflammatory, promoting plaque formation. It also increases stress hormones.
Trans fats increase bad cholesterol, decrease good cholesterol, increase inflammation, and raise triglycerides.
Stress increases blood pressure. In fact, blood pressure is a measure of stress applied to artery walls.

While the affects of aspartame have been well-publicized, those of the artificial sweetener sucralose are not as well known. Sucralose is marketed as Splenda whose ads say “made from sugar so it tastes like sugar”.

What the ads don’t tell you is that sucralose is sugar bonded to chlorine, making it a toxic chlorocarbon!

Some common neurological side effects are headaches, migraines, dizziness, brain fog, anxiety, depression, and tinnitus. Another side effect is weight gain which rather defeats the point!

Aluminum is an additive in baking powder and anti-caking agents, but it is used as much more than just a food ingredient. It is the most abundant metal in the the earth’s crust so is hard to avoid. It’s in drinking water, antacids, deodorant, cans, foil, and is commonly used in cookware.

Aluminum is suspected of contributing to Alzheimer’s. In the 1970′s, autopsies revealed that people that had Alzheimer’s had a larger than normal concentration of aluminum in the brain. This understandably began a scare that aluminum was the cause of Alzheimer’s.

Many people consequently stopped using aluminum cookware. This soft metal leeches into food especially when cooking acidic foods like tomato, lemon, or vinegar.

Stainless steel is the better cookware choice. It is more durable, scratch-resistant, and less reactive than aluminum. It’s easier to keep looking good for the long haul, too.

You can also find aluminum-free deodorants, baking powder and antacids. You can cook on parchment paper instead of foil. But is all this necessary?

Scientific proof can come slowly. It’s been 40 years since the aluminum-Alzheimer’s correlation was made, but science has still not determined for certain whether ingesting aluminum contributes to this disease for sure. But since it is a known neurotoxin, it only makes sense to minimize your exposure.

Why it pays to read labels.. #1

Monosodium glutamate, usually referred to simply as MSG, is ubiquitous in processed foods. It breaks down in the body into glutamate, a known excitotoxin — a substance that literally stimulates brain cells to death.

A truly alarming thing about MSG is that it is in just about everything, yet it is not required to be on labels. This makes it very difficult to avoid.

It is required to be listed on a label only if it’s 100% pure MSG. Spices, flavorings, and natural flavorings can all contain up to 99% MSG with no mention on the label!

It’s quite crucial to understand that glyphosate contamination is systemic, meaning it is present in every cell of the plant, from root to tip. It’s not just an issue of topical contamination, as with many other agricultural chemicals sprayed on crops.

Tapeworms have a “crown” of tiny hooks on top of their head, which they use to attach themselves to your insides. They feed off of your nutrients by absorbing them through their skin. Pork, beef and fish are the primary sources of infection. Eating raw fish, beef, or pork that is undercooked can lead to tapeworm infection. Even meat and fish that are properly cooked can be a possible cause of infection if the chef has poor sanitation and reinfects your food.

Calling for urgent action, WHO says that antibiotic resistance is occurring “in every region of the world.” Describing the current medical landscape as a “post-antibiotic era,” WHO is revealing that simple infections, once treatable, are now capable of taking lives en masse. After analyzing data from 114 countries, WHO has deemed that “devastating implications are imminent, unless “significant” and prompt action is taken.”

Do we subconsciously sabotage ourselves?

Have you ever found yourself wondering why you, or someone else, repeats apparently unproductive, even destructive habits?

You take pleasure in someone else’s failure because it makes you feel superior to them.

You take pleasure in arguments because you get to see the other person as an idiot and feel morally superior.

You take pleasure in personal martyrdom. You feel you are a noble victim, better than others who are so obviously self-centered.

You take pleasure in rebelling against authority (and inviting correction and control) because it gives you a false sense of power (and leads to giving your power away).

You take pleasure in rejection because it confirms that others are mean and small minded.

You take pleasure in helplessness because it lets you off the hook.

You take pleasure in not getting what you want because it proves how selfless you are.

You take pleasure in extreme frustration because it proves how hard you are trying and how stupid and uncooperative other people can be.

But why would things get so twisted?

Emotions lodged – trapped or hidden – in the body/subconscious can certainly influence thoughts/feelings/behaviors from behind the scene. But we needn’t be subject to unseen forces. Releasing them can be surprisingly easy – no hours of therapy sessions waiting for the “ahah” moment, no sifting through painful memories..
